About the Firm

“For us, winning isn’t business, it’s personal. Our clients get one of Atlanta's high profile attorneys and more. They get a warm, personable and dedicated legal support team with expertise in case management, family law, child advocacy, public law, and public relations.”

Michael and Shelia Manely,
The Manely Firm, P.C.

Michael Manely, founder of The Manely Firm, P.C., has been practicing law for over 18 years. For your convenience we have three offices in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area at the following locations: on the Historic Marietta Square in Cobb County, across from Lenox Mall in Fulton County and just off the Historic Canton Square in Cherokee County. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. We maintain cutting edge computer and office technology, allowing our staff the flexibility to represent local and international clients throughout metropolitan Atlanta with ease.

In addition to our attorneys, our office is staffed with two highly qualified paralegals, allowing us to deliver thorough, thoughtful legal support at a very competitive cost. Because one paralegal is assigned specifically to each client’s case, the paralegal is almost always available during business hours. This is critical, since attorneys’ business hours are often spent in court.

The Staff

Senior Business Manager, Shelia Manely: Shelia earned a B.A. in Paralegal Studies. She also holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. She has had a distinguished career in education administration: Executive Director of Georgia School Council Institute, Vice President of Marketing at Kentucky Higher Education Student Loan Corporation, Assistant to the Regional Secretary for the U.S. Department of Education and Federal Grant Administrator at Eastern Kentucky University. Shelia is Michael's wife.

Paralegal, Philip Surat: Philip has over 30 years experience in the legal field. He and his family moved to Marietta in 2003. Philip earned a B.S. in Accounting from Pace University in New York. While working at Legal Aid of North Carolina, she volunteered at the Shelter for Battered Women and The Women’s Homeless Shelter. Nora has also enjoyed other volunteer activities, such as serving as a community member of the Policy Council for the Charlotte Head Start Program, and more recently, working on the fundraising committee at her son’s school.

Paralegal, Alyssa Blanchard: Alyssa is currently a history major at Georgia State University. In addition, she has completed classes at Chattahoochee Technical College. Alyssa has participated in the State Bar’s Mock Trial competition where she lead the Marietta High School Team’s Prosecution and won a Best Attorney Award. Alyssa joined the firm as a student intern but has since served as an office clerk, receptionist, legal assistant and now paralegal. Alyssa plans on completing her degree in history and continuing her education in law school.

Legal Secretary/Receptionist, Amy Jordan: Amy attended UGA and Georgia State before launching her career in legal services. Her professional experience includes over 9 years experience in Royalty Accounting Management at an International Book Publishing Company and at a major Music Recording Company in New York City.
